Carne Asada

Juicy, charred steak with a punchy herb chutney. A game-changer for your next BBQ! 

Ingredients (Serves 3 - 4)

  • 500g flank or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice of 1 medium lime
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & Pepper to season
  • 4 tbsp Safran Vert Coriander Chutney
  • Lime wedges, to serve
  • Fresh coriander, to garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Mix oil, garlic, lime juice, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper.
  2. Rub the marinade all over the steak. Marinate for at least 1 hour, however ideal if you can leave it to marinade overnight. 
  3. Grill on high for 3 - 4 minutes each side (or until charred and cooked to your liking).
  4. Rest for 5 minutes, slice thinly and serve with coriander chutney, lime wedges and fresh coriander.

Top Tip!

Let the meat rest before slicing for maximum juiciness.
